Indian travellers heading to Cambodia will soon have more choice in the air. Air Cambodia is putting on a third weekly direct flight between Delhi and Phnom Penh, with the extra Thursday service kicking in from 17 December 2026. Combined with the existing Tuesday and Saturday rotations, that makes three non-stop departures a week on this route.
The flights run on an Airbus A320 with 170 seats on board — 8 in Business Class and 162 in Economy — so there's room for both a quick capital break and a bigger two-week heritage trip.
Timing matters here. Cambodia has been quietly building its appeal among Indian holidaymakers, and the airline points to rising interest across leisure, business and experiential travel. A mid-week frequency is genuinely useful for trip planning: you can fly out Thursday, spend a long weekend in Phnom Penh, push on to Siem Reap for the temples, and be back at work on Monday. Tour operators and agents get more flexibility too, which usually means better-priced and more creative packages hitting the market.
What's on the other end? Phnom Penh itself is a lively riverside capital with a fast-growing food and cafe scene, plus sobering but important historical sites. From there it's an easy hop to Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, arguably the most impressive temple complex in Southeast Asia, while the beaches of Sihanoukville and the islands further south cover the sand-and-sea crowd. Air Cambodia and its Indian sales partner Aeroprime Group have both flagged India as a priority growth market, so expect the route to keep evolving.
For anyone in Delhi (or connecting through it) who has had Cambodia on the list but balked at one-stop routings via Bangkok or Singapore, this trims the hassle considerably. Three frequencies a week on a direct A320 is a solid baseline for booking a trip around your own schedule rather than the airline's — and with the launch landing in mid-December, it lines up neatly with peak winter holiday season, when Cambodia's dry, cooler weather makes it the ideal moment to see the temples without wilting in the heat.
