Wellness cruises are nothing new, but this one has ambition. Orient Express Sailing Yachts has teamed up with French beauty house Guerlain for Ocean Rebirth, a fourteen-night retreat at sea aboard the sailing yacht Orient Express Corinthian, running October 12–26, 2026. The route: Lisbon to Bridgetown, Barbados, with a pause in Ponta Delgada in the Azores — meaning most of the programme happens mid-Atlantic, far from any shoreline distractions.
If a full fortnight sounds like a lot, the crossing is also sold in two legs: Lisbon to Ponta Delgada (October 12–15) or the longer Ponta Delgada to Bridgetown stretch (October 15–26). And if you miss the autumn sailing, a return edition runs March 13–27, 2027, from Bridgetown back to Lisbon, this time with a two-day stop in the Azores. Both can be booked end to end or by stage.
The programme is built on Guerlain's four pillars of well-being: nutrition, movement, mindfulness and sleep. Everyone starts with a pre-voyage assessment so the schedule can be tailored individually, then rotates through one-to-one consultations, small-group workshops and guided sessions. The kit list reads like a serious spa inventory: LongeviSkin, a Guerlain device bundling seven aesthetic technologies including LED, plasma and radiofrequency, plus Technogym Check-up assessments, pressotherapy, LED masks and Theragun recovery tools.
Backing it all up are five specialists from the Guerlain Wellness Expert Committee sailing with guests: Amélie Demange, international director of Aesthetic Creation at Guerlain Spas; Déborah Passuti, a naturopathy and longevity expert and Buchinger Wilhelmi ambassador; Slav Marinov, a six-time world massage champion; brand ambassador Annabelle Deridder; and ballet-trained dancer Charles Ferreux. Their at-sea line-up covers breathwork and meditation, crystal bowl sound baths, mobility work, deep-tissue massage and regenerative nutrition.
Who is this actually for? Travellers who like the idea of a wellness sabbatical but want structure, luxury and a dramatic setting — there are few more focused environments than a sailing yacht in open ocean. It also suits anyone curious about longevity-focused programmes who would rather ease into one with Barbados waiting at the end. Just be aware this is a 2026–27 season affair, so planning and booking well ahead is essential, especially for the full fourteen-night crossing.
