PortMiami has published its ship lineup for the 2026-2027 cruise season, and it leans heavily towards the premium end of the market. Alongside familiar mainstream names, the schedule features a run of luxury and expedition vessels that will be homeported in Miami — good news for travellers who want a high-end sailing without flying to Europe or beyond.
The season kicks off in October 2026 with two French-flavoured arrivals: Ponant Explorations' L'Austral and Explora Journeys' Explora III. November brings a busy cluster — the Orient Express Corinthian, Silversea's Silver Shadow, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection's Ilma and Emerald's Sakara. December follows with Silver Ray, Azamara Quest, Four Seasons I and Silver Dawn, effectively stacking four ultra-luxury brands into Miami at once.
Into 2027, January adds Margaritaville at Sea's Beachcomber and Silver Nova, while February welcomes Silver Spirit and Carnival's Firenze. Summer sees the big mainstream hardware: Norwegian Aura arrives in June and Hero of the Seas in August. County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava framed the lineup as proof of cruising's deep roots in Miami, while port director Jonathan Daniels said the variety of brands reinforces the city's status as the heart of modern cruising.
Practical detail matters here, because PortMiami is enormous and embarkation-day traffic can be brutal. The port is asking passengers to park in the garage or surface lot designated for their specific ship, arrive during their scheduled embarkation window, and use the right entrance: if you're sailing from Terminals AA, A, B, C or D, come in via the PortMiami Tunnel; for Terminals E, F, J or V, use the PortMiami Bridge. Following those rules is the difference between a smooth start and a stressful one.
Why it matters to you: if you've been eyeing a luxury or expedition-style cruise — Ponant, Silversea, Explora, Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons — Miami will, for this season, be one of the easiest places in the world to start one. Rather than positioning voyages in the Mediterranean or Antarctica gateway ports, these lines are sailing from Florida, which usually means better flight connections from the US and more competitive fares. And with Margaritaville and Carnival also in the mix, there's something at nearly every price point.
If you're booked on one of these sailings, double-check your terminal before travel day, plan to arrive at your assigned time slot, and give yourself buffer time if flying in the same day — Miami International Airport is roughly 30-45 minutes from the port depending on traffic. Cruisers with a day to spare should consider adding a night in Miami Beach or Wynwood before embarkation rather than rolling straight from the airport to the ship.
