Indonesia's largest trade fair is shaping up to be a record edition. The 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI 2026) runs from 14 to 18 October 2026 at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in BSD City, Tangerang, on the outskirts of Jakarta — and by late September, buyers from 113 countries had already registered, alongside 1,533 Indonesian exhibitors, many of them small and medium-sized businesses.

Run by Indonesia's Ministry of Trade under the theme "The Ultimate Hub for Global Sourcing," the expo spreads across nearly 16,700 square metres and organisers are targeting around USD 17.5 billion in potential transactions, with roughly 1,500 exhibitors and 30,000 visitors expected through the doors.

The buyer list is a snapshot of where Indonesian exports are heading: India leads registrations, followed by China, Nigeria, Malaysia and Egypt. Interest has been drummed up by Indonesian embassies, consulates and trade representatives abroad, who ran 17 business pitching and matching sessions in August and September ahead of the event.

Exhibitors are organised into five zones to make sourcing straightforward: Food, Beverage and Agriculture is by far the biggest with 754 exhibitors, followed by Fashion and Handicraft (448), Manufactured Products and Services (183), Furniture and Home Decor (85) and an Industrial Estate Zone (63). On-site, expect product exhibitions, business forums, business matching, MoU signings and investment commitments, plus visits from partner-country ministers — invitation requests have come in from Zimbabwe, Russia, Uzbekistan, the UK and Serbia.

One quirk worth knowing: TEI isn't funded by the Indonesian state budget. It's bankrolled by participation fees and sponsorships via professional event organiser PT Debindomulti Adhiswasti, which also curates exhibitors for export readiness and has lined up over 200 hotel rooms for buyers with real transaction potential. Backers include Pertamina, Bank Mandiri, KADIN Indonesia and Indonesia Eximbank, with promotion running through more than 154 media outlets and partnerships with trade events in Russia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Australia.

For business travellers and sourcing professionals, TEI is one of the most efficient ways to meet hundreds of vetted Indonesian suppliers — from coffee and spices to furniture and textiles — under one roof near Jakarta.
