If you road-trip or rent a car in the US, fuel costs bite — and Amazon just made them a little easier to swallow. Prime members who link their account to the Earnify fuel app can now claim 20 cents off every gallon of gas each Friday, running from October 2, 2026 through January 29, 2027.

Here's the setup. Earnify already gives Prime members a standing discount of 10 cents per gallon at more than 7,500 participating stations across the US, including Amoco, BP, ampm and Thorntons locations. The new Friday promotion simply doubles that: on Fridays only, the discount jumps to 20 cents per gallon.

A few limits worth knowing before you plan your fill-up. The deal covers one fuel transaction per Friday, capped at 35 gallons — more than enough for a typical car, and handy if you're topping up an RV or towing a trailer. It applies to all fuel grades, so you don't have to downgrade to regular to get the discount. That matters right now, with AAA pegging the national average for a gallon of regular above $4.

Getting started is a one-time chore. Download the Earnify app on iOS or Android, head to Amazon's fuel savings page, and link the two accounts. At the pump you have two options: enter the phone number tied to your Earnify account and pay with a card saved in your Earnify wallet, or open the app, select the station and pump number, and follow the prompts. Once the accounts are linked, using it takes seconds.

To squeeze the most value out of it, pay with a credit card that earns bonus points or miles on gas purchases — the discount stacks on top of whatever rewards your card earns, so a Friday fill-up effectively pays you twice. And fill up as close to the 35-gallon cap as your tank allows; the discount is per gallon, so a fuller tank means bigger total savings.

The only real friction is timing. You need to be near a participating BP, Amoco, ampm or Thorntons station on a Friday, which takes a bit of planning if you're mid-road-trip. A reasonable strategy: make Friday your fuel day by default for the next few months, and check the Earnify app's station map before you leave on a weekend trip so you know where the deal applies on your route.

For holidaymakers renting a car in the US this winter, it's free money if you already pay for Prime — just make sure the accounts are linked before you pick up the car rather than fumbling with app setup at the pump.
