Hong Kong's Central district has a new excuse to be explored: Destination CENTRAL, a district-wide programme from Hongkong Land that runs from late September 2026 through to February 2027. The centrepiece is the Central Passport — a collectible, luggage-styled guide you pick up free at more than 20 spots across the district, then fill with stamps from eight checkpoints, including the Louis Vuitton pop-up, the Central MTR exit near LANDMARK, BaseHall in Jardine House and The Plaza LKF. Collect three stamps and you can enter a lucky draw at LANDMARK ATRIUM with a top prize of 66,000 Asia Miles — enough for a Cathay Pacific business-class round trip to Japan. The passport also carries dining perks from over 40 partners, including Lan Kwai Fong and The Murray.
Fashion fans get their own headline act. After stops on the Champs-Élysées, New York's 57th Street and Shanghai's 'The Louis', Louis Vuitton brings its "Spirit of Travel" mega-art installation to LANDMARK, arriving in late October alongside a basement brand exhibition. The pop-up store is already open on the ground floor of LANDMARK ATRIUM until 29 October. All of it sets the stage for a permanent Louis Vuitton Maison at LANDMARK.
The travel theme gets suitably nerdy with the LANDMARK Tram Station and Heritage Route, built with Hong Kong Tramways. A recreated first-generation tram inside LANDMARK ATRIUM displays genuine archive pieces — a traditional ticket punch, coin box, driving console and a "Dick, Kerr" controller — tracing Central's shift from harbourfront trading post to financial core.
Food-wise, THE CHATER opened on 6 October on 2/F LANDMARK CHATER with a menu curated by the Mandarin Oriental, spanning bubble tea, quick gourmet bites and, later in the season, Pierre Hermé macarons and gelato. From late October, Platform 1889 on the terrace — a first-class railway carriage-inspired lounge named for the year Sir Paul Chater co-founded Hongkong Land — offers one of the best vantage points for both the Louis Vuitton installation and the skyline.
Timing your visit for late October means catching Halloween in Central too, a Hong Kong Tourism Board-supported takeover of Statue Square Gardens and Chater Road from 17 to 31 October. Expect a giant eyeball fountain installation, a photo-ready Coffin Throne, and street events ranging from a pickleball afternoon to a family day with bouncy castles, plus a late-night Halloween finale running into 1 November.
Who is this for? Anyone combining a Hong Kong city break with shopping, food or a photography fix — and bonus if you bank with HSBC: eligible BESPOKE members paying with Privé or Premier Mastercards can earn up to HK$3,000 in reward vouchers and 135,000 bonus points on qualifying spend before 18 November 2026. The passport scheme itself is free, easy to do in a morning of wandering between MTR, tram stop and mall, and doubles as a self-guided tour of Central's landmarks.
