The catch is registration — you must sign up by December 15, before your stay, though existing reservations made earlier still qualify once you've registered.
The big improvement over Hyatt's summer offer is that award nights and free night certificates now count. Back then, your first stay was excluded entirely and the earning cap sat at just 8,000 points. This time there's no requirement to pay with a Hyatt credit card, and your very first stay of the season is eligible. Nights also accumulate across properties, so three separate one-night stays earn the same bonus as one three-night visit.
Eligibility is broad: participating Hyatt hotels worldwide, plus partner options including Mr & Mrs Smith properties, The Venetian Resort, and Homes & Hideaways — as long as the partner stays are booked through Hyatt's own channels. One quirk: if you're paying for multiple rooms, only the room you actually occupy counts toward the promo.
Is it worth chasing? At a typical valuation of roughly 1.4 cents per point, each 3,000-point bonus is worth around $42 — about $14 extra per night when your total divides neatly by three. The maths is especially friendly on redemptions: three nights at 5,000 points each means you'd hand over 15,000 points and get 3,000 back, cutting the net cost to 12,000. Bonuses post within two to three weeks of checkout and can stack with other promotions unless those explicitly exclude it.
Two caveats worth knowing. The bonus structure itself isn't new — Hyatt has run versions of this for over a decade, and a promotion earlier this year even added extra earning at Hyatt Place and Hyatt Select hotels, which this one drops. And 3,000 points simply buys less than it used to. Hitting the 36,000-point cap requires a hefty 36 qualifying nights, so this is really a reward for frequent guests rather than a once-a-year holidaymaker.
Still, the practical advice is simple: register now even if no trip is planned. The bookings you make on a whim are exactly the ones where you'll forget a promotion exists. It can also tip the scales when comparing hotels — if you're sitting on two qualifying nights, one more stay unlocks the full 3,000 points, so factor that value into the price comparison. For anyone with a few Hyatt nights already on the calendar this autumn, it's free money that only takes a minute to claim.
