A slice of Paris nightlife has touched down in Dubai's financial district. Le Piaf, the French capital's well-known piano bar, has opened its first Dubai outpost inside Jumeirah Emirates Towers, taking over the former La Cantine space. It's the newest project from Dubai-born Rikas Hospitality, which partnered with Paris Society — the group behind some of France's buzziest venues from Paris to Saint-Tropez and Megève — and has already brought beach clubs Gigi Rigolatto and Maison Revka to the city.

The dining room leans hard into drama: red velvet, gilded mirrors, crystal chandeliers, gold leaf and black lacquer, with old paintings on the walls and crimson banquettes. Tables are dressed in white cloths and set across split levels so nearly everyone can see the stage. It's candlelit, packed and unapologetically sultry.

The food is French with Mediterranean influences, and the whole menu is built for sharing. Starters run from Dhs95 to Dhs125, mains from Dhs150 to Dhs290. Review highlights include a foie gras-topped French bean salad, a juicy wagyu burger with caramelised onions, and golden fries; the seabass with Provençal dressing got a slightly mixed notice. Order a few plates between two and you'll be set.

The real draw, though, is what happens after dark. Book for 9pm to catch the full arc of the evening — mellow piano early on, then a live vocalist belting out crowd-pleasers from Sting's Englishman in New York to Mamma Mia, which triggered a room-wide sing-along on the reviewer's visit. A DJ keeps the energy up between sets, and by midnight plenty of guests are on their feet — waiters included, some of them dancing on tables and waving napkins between courses.

Le Piaf runs 8pm to 2am, Wednesday to Monday, closing Tuesdays. It fits squarely into Dubai's current love of the dinner-and-show format: you're not just booking a table, you're booking an evening, and the price reflects that. For travellers, it's an easy pick if you want one big night out in DIFC without bar-hopping — dinner, live music and a party in a single booking. Worth pairing with drinks in the Emirates Towers area or the short hop to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard for a nightcap.
