A boosted welcome offer has put Marriott's business credit card back on the radar. Through November 4, 2026, the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card is offering 100,000 Bonvoy points plus a free night award (worth up to 50,000 points) after spending $8,000 in the first six months. For anyone who books Marriott stays regularly, that is a serious pile of value — the reviewer pegs Bonvoy points at roughly 0.7 cents each, which puts the bonus at around $1,050.

The card itself is cheap to hold. The annual fee is $125, with no charge for additional card members, and there are no foreign transaction fees. Spending rates are serviceable rather than spectacular: 6x points at Marriott properties globally, 4x at restaurants worldwide plus US gas stations, shipping and wireless phone bills, and 2x everywhere else. That works out to about a 4.2% return on Marriott spending at the reviewer's valuation — fine, but not the reason to get the card.

The real draw is the perks. Every year on your anniversary you get a free night award valid at properties costing up to 35,000 points, and you can top it up with up to 25,000 of your own points for pricier hotels. The reviewer says they regularly redeem theirs at hotels charging $250+ per night, easily covering the fee twice over. Spend $60,000 in a calendar year and you earn a second certificate, though most people won't hit that.

Status is the other big hook. Cardholders get complimentary Marriott Gold Elite (25% bonus points, late checkout, better Wi-Fi, potential upgrades) plus 15 elite nights credited annually just for holding the card. Combine it with a personal Marriott card — the benefit stacks once on each — and you can rack up 30-40 elite nights a year without sleeping in a single hotel, putting Platinum status and its free breakfast within easy reach. Those card nights also count toward lifetime status.

Before applying, check your history. You're excluded if you've had this card or the old SPG Business Amex, and a web of 30-day, 90-day and 24-month rules applies if you've held various Chase Marriott cards. On the plus side, Amex business approvals are reportedly quick, and the application doesn't count toward Chase's 5/24 limit — handy for anyone managing multiple card applications. Amex also caps you at two approvals per 90 days and five credit cards at once.

Who should care? Frequent Marriott guests, road-warrior small business owners and points enthusiasts chasing hotel status. If you'd happily use a free night at a $250-a-night property each year, the maths works on that alone. Just don't treat it as your everyday business card — better rewards rates exist elsewhere.
