A decade in, The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is planning its biggest festive season yet. From 20 December 2026 to 7 January 2027, the private-island resort will run "Chapter X: Celebrating 10 Years Through the Island's Story" — a programme built around Vommuli's own ecology and Maldivian heritage, rather than a generic holiday schedule.
The concept divides the island into its four ecological zones, each with its own theme. The Lagoon Zone centres on sunset celebrations and ocean-facing dinners under the resort's overwater architecture. The Beach Zone nods to the island's past, when fishermen's huts lined the shore, with family gatherings inspired by Maldivian coastal traditions. In the Jungle Zone, Vommuli House becomes a hub for nature-based activities and storytelling aimed at kids and multi-generational families. The Coastal Zone, designed around the shape of a traditional dhoni boat, pays tribute to the country's seafaring roots with ocean-view family experiences.
The calendar covers the festive staples guests expect: a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, Santa's arrival, dedicated children's programming, gala dinners, wine journeys and wellness rituals. Things build to a New Year's Eve celebration capped with fireworks over the Indian Ocean.
There's also a Festive Getaway Package on offer, bundled with the brand's signature butler service and seasonal privileges. It applies to stays between 15 December 2026 and 15 January 2027, but you need to book by 15 November 2026 — worth noting if you're already eyeing a Maldives trip for that window.
General manager Ozgur Cengiz framed the season as both a milestone and a thank-you to returning guests, saying the resort wanted to honour its legacy while creating traditions for future generations.
