Aruba sits outside the Caribbean hurricane belt, which is a big part of why it works so reliably as a beach holiday: warm weather, steady trade winds and calm aquamarine water almost any month you choose to go. But picking the right hotel matters more than picking the right week, because the island's two main beach strips offer quite different holidays.
Palm Beach is the lively end of the island — a walkable stretch lined with casinos, bars and restaurants. It's where you'll find The Ritz-Carlton, the island's most luxurious property, praised for polished service and a prime position near the action. Families tend to do well here too: the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort Spa and Casino gets the nod as the best family-friendly option, with resort amenities that keep kids busy and parents relaxed.
If your idea of a Caribbean break is quieter, head south to Eagle Beach. It's less developed and noticeably more low-key, and it's home to Bucuti & Tara, an adults-oriented pick for romantic getaways known for personalised, intimate service. One caveat: it isn't a full five-star operation in the traditional sense — don't expect room service — so it suits travellers who value calm and attention over bells and whistles.
Travellers who don't want to think about a single bill on holiday should look at Divi Aruba All Inclusive, the island's top-rated all-inclusive. Meals, drinks, activities and entertainment are all bundled in, and the property sits right on the beach — the kind of place where you could genuinely never leave, and many guests don't.
Hotels aside, Aruba rewards a bit of exploring. Roughly a fifth of the island is protected as Arikok National Park, where you'll find limestone caves, natural pools and cactus-dotted hiking trails — a rugged contrast to the soft white-sand coast. The island's mix of Dutch and Caribbean heritage also shows up on the plate, so it's worth eating beyond the resort at least a couple of nights. And because Aruba is compact, a long weekend is enough to see the highlights, though the relaxed pace makes a week feel equally justified.
The short version: choose Palm Beach if you want energy and walkable nightlife, Eagle Beach if you want quiet sand and sunset dinners, and an all-inclusive if you'd rather switch off completely. Any of the three gets you that famously dependable Aruban weather.
