Bilt added a second reward currency to its programme in early 2026. Alongside the Bilt points most people know from paying rent, members now collect something called Bilt Cash — and despite the name, it's not withdrawable money. Think of it instead as a stash of credits you can put towards dining, rides, hotels and perks within Bilt's network, redeemed at face value.
There are two main ways to build a balance. Everyone earns $50 in Bilt Cash each time they hit 25,000 qualifying points towards elite status in a calendar year. Cardholders get more: the no-fee Bilt Blue Card comes with $100 in Bilt Cash on approval, the $95-a-year Obsidian Card gives $200, and the $495 Palladium Card hands over $300 plus $200 every calendar year thereafter. Cardholders can also pick a rewards style — either 4% back in Bilt Cash on everyday spending on top of normal points, or a housing-focused setup that boosts points earned on rent or mortgage payments.
Redemptions are where it gets interesting for travellers. Monthly credits include $10 off Grubhub or Seamless, $10 with Lyft, up to $25 at Bilt Dining partners and up to $50 towards hotel bookings of two nights or more via the Bilt travel portal (Gold and Platinum members get up to $100). The head-turner is Blade: $350 in Bilt Cash per seat on its airport flights, usable twice a year for up to $700. Palladium cardholders can also put up to $70 a month towards Priority Pass guest fees, and there are Blacklane chauffeur credits ranging from $50 to $150 a year depending on status.
Two catches worth knowing. First, Bilt Cash expires at the end of each calendar year — only up to $100 rolls over. Second, most redemptions are capped monthly or annually, and you usually need your Bilt account linked to the partner before you can spend.
So what's the smart play? You can also convert Bilt Cash into points: 3 cents per point to unlock points on rent or mortgage payments, or a Points Accelerator that effectively costs 4 cents per extra point. With Bilt points valued at around 2.2 cents each as of September 2026, straightforward credits usually win — unless you've already lined up a high-value transfer-partner redemption where points are worth far more than face value. For most people, the sensible order is to burn your monthly Grubhub, Lyft, dining and hotel credits first, then consider point-unlocking tricks with whatever's left before year-end.
