Halloween isn't a traditional Balinese holiday, but the island has adopted it enthusiastically — and for party-loving travellers, 31 October is now one of the biggest nights of the Bali calendar. For 2026, the lineup runs from cliffside DJ marathons with eye-watering cash prizes to haunted mazes in Ubud and family brunches with piñatas.
The heavyweight event is the Fallen Wonderland Halloween Weekend at Savaya in Uluwatu (30 October to 1 November), with Jonas Blue and Hayden James on the decks and a Sunday costume contest offering a staggering IDR 600 million in cash and prizes. Tickets start at IDR 500,000++, and entry is strictly 21+. Across the island in Seminyak, Canggu and the new Uluwatu venue, Motel Mexicola throws its free Day of the Dead fiesta on 31 October — tacos, tequila, table-dancing and an IDR 10 million prize for the best dressed. Arrive between 6pm and 9pm for a complimentary Margarita Sangrienta.
Canggu gets its own big-money showdown with Les Clowns Du Chaos at Desa Kitsuné on 27 October, where more than IDR 95 million is on offer across professional and amateur costume categories. In Seminyak, The Iron Fairies goes with a Forbidden Fairytale theme (IDR 200,000++ entry), while Ubud's contribution is The Blue Door: a haunted maze staffed by actors, live bands and secret DJ sets, with IDR 275,000++ tickets including a drink.
Travelling with kids? Azul Beach Club in Legian hosts a Haunted Treehouse Brunch on 1 November — BBQ buffet, trick-or-treating and kids' costume prizes worth IDR 10 million. Milk & Madu's Madu Funhouse returns in Canggu (24 October) and Uluwatu (31 October), with IDR 300,000++ covering a kids' set menu, goodie bag and games; adults get in free.
A few practical notes: book Savaya and Motel Mexicola early, as these nights sell out and online tickets undercut the door. Sort your ride before drinking — Bali's roads are dark and uneven at night, so pre-book a Grab, Gojek or driver. Check each venue's age policy (some run 18+ or 21+ doors for Halloween), keep valuables close in crowded venues, and agree a meeting point with your group since phone signal can drop in packed outdoor spaces.
