Loyalty programme Rove Miles is running a short, sharp promotion: between September 15 and 18 (closing at 11:59 p.m. Eastern), both sides of a referral get double miles. New members who sign up through a referral earn 1,000 Rove Miles straight away, and the person referring them gets 1,000 too, up from the usual 500. On top of that, referrers collect 10% of everything the new member earns during their first six months — from online shopping, travel bookings, dining and similar activity. There's no cap mentioned, so anyone with a big contact list could stack up a serious balance.
What makes this worth more than a quick sign-up bonus is where those miles can go. Rove transfers to a wide spread of airline programmes: on the Star Alliance side, Air Canada Aeroplan, Lufthansa Miles & More, Turkish Airlines, Thai Airways, Air India and Copa; in SkyTeam, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, Virgin Atlantic, SAS EuroBonus, Aeromexico and Vietnam Airlines; and across oneworld, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Japan Airlines, Qantas, Finnair and Qatar Airways Privilege Club. Non-alliance options include Etihad Guest, Frontier and Hainan, plus Accor hotels on the lodging side.
A few of those partners punch above their weight. Lufthansa Miles & More is one of the few ways to book Lufthansa first class — award space that partner Star Alliance programmes often don't release. Copa ConnectMiles opens up Emirates awards without the hefty fuel surcharges other routes charge. Air India's programme lets you redeem against short United flights from just 3,500 miles in economy or 7,000 in domestic first. Aeroplan and Flying Blue are reliable all-rounders for long-haul redemptions.
There's also a simpler option if award charts feel like homework: Rove miles can be redeemed against paid hotel bookings at roughly 1.5 cents each. Bookings made this way still count as eligible stays, so you keep earning hotel points, elite night credits and enjoying your status benefits. You can also earn Rove miles on those same paid hotel stays.
The timing matters. The doubled referral rate runs only through September 18, so anyone interested should join via a referral first, then fire off their own links before the window shuts. For points hobbyists, the 10% earn on a new member's first six months is arguably the more valuable hook — everyday spending through Rove quietly feeds your balance while you decide which transfer partner deserves it.
