KLM marked its 107th birthday on 7 October 2026 by unveiling the newest addition to its famous Delft Blue miniature house collection — and for the first time, it's a winery. House No. 107 recreates Wijnhoeve De Kleine Schorre in Dreischor, on the island of Schouwen-Duiveland in Zeeland, an estate that has supplied wines to the airline's World Business Class for around two decades.

The winery itself is a relative pioneer. Founded in 2001, when Dutch quality wine still raised eyebrows, it has battled salty sea winds and heavy clay soil to produce whites from grapes like Rivaner, Auxerrois and Pinot Blanc. KLM started pouring its wines back in 2006, and they appear in World Business Class each September to November — limited production keeps them scarce. Owner Johan van de Velde called the miniature an honour and a nod to the estate's first 25 years. It's also the third Zeeland landmark in the series, after houses in Middelburg and Veere.

For the uninitiated: KLM has been handing out tiny blue-and-white ceramic houses to intercontinental business class passengers since 1952. Each one holds a splash of genever (Bols has supplied the filling since the 1990s) and depicts a notable building, many in Amsterdam but others across the Netherlands and beyond. Since 1994, the collection has grown by one house a year to match the airline's age, with each reveal timed to the 7 October anniversary. Past models include Villa Rameau in Leiden and Het Huis aan de Drie Grachten on the Amsterdam canals. There are special editions too — 2026 also saw a miniature of The New York Historical Museum marking 80 years of Amsterdam–New York flights. Collectors can log their hauls in the KLM Houses app.

The anniversary event carried a second announcement that matters to more travellers: KLM is putting Starlink satellite Wi-Fi on its intercontinental fleet, starting mid-2027 with full rollout by mid-2028. Better still, it'll be free for Flying Blue members in every cabin — and joining the loyalty programme costs nothing, so economy passengers get a look-in too. That follows the January 2026 launch of free Wi-Fi on European routes via Viasat, already live on about half those aircraft and expanding to the A321neo, Embraer 195-E2 and selected Boeing 737-800s.

Why care? If you're flying KLM long-haul in business class over the next year, house No. 107 could be sitting on your tray table — a small ceramic slice of a Dutch wine region most people have never heard of. And if you fancy visiting, De Kleine Schorre sits in Zeeland's tranquil Delta region, a peaceful corner of dikes, water and vineyards a couple of hours from Amsterdam. Meanwhile, the Starlink news means that from 2027-28 you'll be able to stream, message and browse across the Atlantic without paying extra, whatever cabin you book.
