Coron is getting a new reason to book that Palawan trip. The Lind Hotels, the Filipino group behind the acclaimed The Lind Boracay, opens The Lind Coron in 2027 — and the location is more than a business decision. Coron was where the company bought its first property over a decade ago, long before it made its name in Boracay. Now the brand is circling back to where it started.

That Boracay pedigree matters. The Lind Boracay picked up international awards and became the first hotel on the island to appear in the MICHELIN Guide, so expectations for the Palawan property are correspondingly high. COO Pierre Henrichs frames the move as pioneering rather than following, betting on Coron's combination of natural beauty and room to grow.

The resort itself will have 91 rooms and villas, with private villas adding dipping pools and a dedicated Villa Host. Food is clearly a priority: Yím, a modern Thai signature restaurant, plus Crust by the Main House infinity pool, serving Mediterranean dishes with sea views and local craft drinks. Wellness comes via The Spa Wellness Coron — the first Philippine spa brand to earn Superbrand status — and an on-site dive center run by one of the country's diving pioneers.

That dive centre is a big deal given where you'll be. Coron's surrounding waters hold World War II shipwrecks, some within easy reach of the property, alongside reefs, hidden lagoons and the limestone karst scenery the area is famous for. Island-hopping is the default activity here.

Events are covered too. The Gallery seats up to 200 indoors with panoramic sea views, The Cove handles outdoor gatherings, and the Roof Deck — at the resort's highest point — offers 360-degree views pitched squarely at weddings, proposals and special occasions.

Before opening, The Lind Hotels will exhibit at the Philippine Travel Mart, running September 4-6, 2026 at the SMX Convention Center Manila, so early details and offers may surface there first.

For travellers, this is one to watch if Coron is on your list for 2027 or beyond. The town has long attracted divers and island-hoppers, but a property of this calibre — with Michelin-Guided pedigree behind it — could lift the destination's overall standard. If you prefer your luxury with shipwreck dives and lagoon swims attached, put it on the radar.
