Sir Rod Stewart has confirmed that his next run of shows, The Final Encore, will be his last ever tour — and one of the dates is at the Pula Arena in Croatia on 22 June 2027.
For fans, the setting is a big part of the appeal. Pula Arena is one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world, an ancient stone oval right on the Istrian coast. Seeing a rock legend run through five decades of hits inside a 2,000-year-old monument on a summer evening is about as good as open-air concerts get.
Tickets go on general sale Friday, 2 October at 12pm via Eventim Croatia, with a pre-sale opening earlier, on 29 September at 12pm. Given that this is being billed as the definitive final tour, demand for the Pula date is likely to be fierce.
The set list should lean heavily on the classics: Maggie May, You Wear It Well, Tonight's the Night, Hot Legs, Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?, Young Turks, Baby Jane, Forever Young, Sailing and Have I Told You Lately are all expected. Stewart has been performing professionally for over six decades, first making his name with the Jeff Beck Group and Faces before a solo career that has sold more than 250 million records, produced six UK number-one singles and earned him two Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductions. His scale of live performance is equally staggering — he once played to an estimated 3.5 million people on Copacabana Beach, a Guinness World Record, and racked up 200 shows across a 13-year residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Why should this matter to travellers? Because it's a ready-made excuse for an Istrian holiday. Pula sits at the southern tip of Croatia's peninsula, a laid-back city with Roman ruins, harbourside cafes and easy access to some of the Adriatic's best beaches. A late-June concert date means you can build a whole trip around it: days on the coast at nearby Rovinj or the Brijuni Islands, evenings in Pula's old town, and one unforgettable night in the arena. Farewell tours don't come back around, so if this one is on your list, booking early — flights and tickets alike — is the smart move.
