Royalton Hotels & Resorts has brought its entire Jamaican portfolio back online, with five resorts now open across Negril and Montego Bay after a serious round of investment in rooms, shared spaces and the overall guest experience.
On the west coast, three properties are trading again: Royalton Negril, the adults-only Royalton Hideaway Negril, and Grand Lido Negril, an intimate au naturel retreat on a private beachfront. Over in Montego Bay, Royalton Blue Waters and Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters sit side by side on a long stretch of sand, offering two very different takes on the same beach.
The refit goes beyond fresh paint. Guestrooms and suites have been redesigned with a contemporary look and a distinctly Jamaican feel, and the tech has been upgraded too — interactive in-room TVs, resort-wide Wi-Fi that reaches the beach, and an app that handles room service, activity bookings and concierge chat. An AI concierge is planned in the coming months, and before you even fly, Online Room Selection and pre-check-in let you pick your exact room and skip the front-desk queue.
Each resort has its own personality. Royalton Negril is built for multigenerational trips, with nine restaurants, seven bars, a kids' splash park, pickleball courts and an outdoor theatre running nightly productions. Hideaway Negril guests get their own beach and swim-out suites but can still use the neighbouring resort's facilities — 12 restaurants and 12 bars combined under the Book 1, Enjoy 2 concept. Royalton Blue Waters is the family crowd-pleaser, with a lazy river, pirate-themed water park, kids' club, teen disco nights and a spa, while Hideaway Blue Waters offers 352 adults-only suites and a private offshore islet, plus access to its neighbour's 12 restaurants and 11 bars.
There's a sustainability angle worth noting: solar panels at Negril and Blue Waters have been reinstalled and should generate over 634,000 kWh of renewable energy a year, and during the closure the resorts supplied emergency water and power to nearby communities.
More is coming. Royalton CHIC Jamaica Paradise Cove, an adults-only lifestyle resort, is slated to open in summer 2027 — the first CHIC-branded property on the island. Bookings are already live across all five open resorts and the upcoming addition.
