A sandbank to yourselves, a villa pool steps from the lagoon, dinner under the stars: the Maldives has quietly cornered the market in romance, and Sun Siyam — a Maldivian-owned brand running islands since 1990 — has three resorts that lean into it hard.

**Sun Siyam Iru Veli (Dhaalu Atoll)** has 125 villas around a calm lagoon, plus a water sports and dive centre, tennis, and an Ocean Spa with a glass floor over the reef. The staff specialise in bespoke extras: champagne picnics on private sandbanks, a coconut oil-making class you can take home, or an "Insta Villa" setup with floating breakfasts and a photoshoot if you want the trip to look as good as it felt.
