Belize isn't the first place most people think of for all-inclusive holidays — the Caribbean's big AI brands tend to look elsewhere. But four small, locally rooted resorts are making a strong case, each pairing true all-inclusive packages (meals, local drinks, transfers, activities and tours built in) with a very different setting.
The most romantic of the lot is Coco Plum Island Resort, an adults-only retreat on a 16-acre private island off southern Belize, reached by a 20-minute boat ride from Dangriga. It sleeps guests in 21 cabanas plus an overwater villa, and has just added more than 6,000 square feet of new space, including an infinity pool and the Serenity Bar & Pool. Expect a four-night minimum (seven over selected holidays) and a special offer running for qualifying travel through December 18, 2026.
If the reef is the whole point, Manta Island Resort sits out on Glover's Reef Atoll — about 75 minutes by boat from Dangriga, sea conditions permitting. It has 11 oceanfront cabanas and a handful of two- and three-bedroom Reef Villas, one with a plunge pool, another with a private L-shaped pool. Snorkelling gear, kayaks and paddleboards come with the all-inclusive package, and Manta is the only one of the four with a dedicated dive package — a sensible detail: alcohol isn't included there for safety reasons, replaced by smoothies, juices and mocktails.
Prefer sand underfoot without a boat transfer? Laru Beya Resort sits on the beach on the Placencia Peninsula, with rooms up to three-bedroom suites, many with full kitchens, living areas and balconies — a good fit for families or groups. Stays start at three nights (five in holiday periods), and the 16-mile peninsula itself, ending in Placencia Village, is worth exploring beyond the resort.
The fourth option, Belizean Dreams in Hopkins, is the one for travellers who want coast and jungle in a single trip. It has nine standalone villas and seven boutique rooms, and its packages come with tours: the standard All Inclusive Package includes one scheduled excursion, while the Mayan Jungle & Beach Package bundles in several, unlocking waterfalls, rainforest experiences and Maya sites inland. Minimum stays run four nights, or seven over Christmas and New Year.
All four are promoting savings for qualifying stays booked for travel through December 18, 2026, and Belize's growing list of nonstop US flights makes getting there easier than it used to be.
Who's each one for? Couples after a tiny private island should look at Coco Plum; divers and snorkellers at Manta; families wanting a beach base with space to spread out at Laru Beya; and anyone chasing a reef-plus-Maya-ruins combo at Belizean Dreams. The shared appeal is that the logistics — meals, drinks, transfers, excursions — are already handled, so the only real decision is which version of Belize you want.
