Fancy watching the Monaco Grand Prix without fighting for a spot on a hillside? Explora Journeys has opened reservations for the 2027 race weekend aboard EXPLORA I, which will be moored just 150 metres from the circuit in Port Hercule from 2 to 7 June 2027. It's the ship's third consecutive year in that prime berth, and the line says it will be the only ship of its kind docked there during the event.
Bookings are now open for two options: suite-only stays, and suites bundled with 3-day Grandstand access to the race. A third tier — suites paired with 3-day F1 Paddock Club hospitality, covering gourmet dining, pit lane walks and appearances by Formula 1 legends — will go on sale shortly, with travellers able to register interest now.
Life onboard looks less like a hotel and more like a floating base camp for the weekend: every suite has a private terrace, and the ship packs six restaurants, 12 bars and lounges, premium drinks throughout, plus spa and fitness facilities. Past editions have also come with serious star power — Sir Jackie Stewart, Mika Häkkinen and David Coulthard have all appeared onboard, and the 2025 and 2026 weekends included gatherings such as the Vanity Fair Club and the official Grand Prix opening party. The 2027 programme is still under wraps.
There's also a longer-trip play. Guests can slot the race weekend into a wider Mediterranean sailing: Rome to Monaco from 24 May to 7 June, Monaco to Barcelona from 2 to 14 June, or both legs combined for a Rome-to-Barcelona run from 24 May to 14 June.
