Thailand may never see a real winter, but its style scene is fully embracing the season. A new roundup of autumn/winter 2026 collections includes several launches that happened right in Bangkok, making the city a surprisingly good stop for fashion-minded travellers this year.
The most local of the bunch is Sretsis, the Thai label led by creative director Pim Sukhahuta, which marked its 24th anniversary with "Sretsis Himmapan", the first fashion presentation held at its flagship Sretsis Inn Bangkok. Staged salon-style like a Parisian couture parlour, with models moving through the store in numbered looks, the collection reimagines Thailand's mythological Himmapan Forest across three chapters. Standouts include a rose named in honour of Queen Sirikit, a signature leopard motif inspired by the Ruesi hermit sage of Thai literature, and vegan leather made from apple peel fibres. Fans of the house's brocade get the Garden of Nostalgia pieces, including the Kinnaree Brocade Mini Dress with faux-fur sleeves.
Bangkok also hosted the launch of Maria Grazia Chiuri's first collection for Fendi at the Iconsiam boutique. The highlight is the limited-edition Baguette 26424 Re-Edition, drawn from the Fendi archive and sold with its own metal tag in a custom wooden crate-style box. Chiuri's debut leans on fluid drapery, chiffon, leather and fur, inspired by a 1977 fashion film commissioned by Karl Lagerfeld.
Beyond Bangkok, the global season offers plenty to browse. Cos staged its fifth consecutive New York Fashion Week show with 47 looks built on cool greys, navy and rich purple accents, double-faced cashmere and 1920s-inspired dropped waists. Loro Piana's "Nomadic Reverie" takes a train journey as its theme, reviving the Rovasenda Jacket with detachable sleeves aimed squarely at travellers. Saint Laurent pairs vibrant lace with leather, Celine showed "Celine Hiver 2026" at the Institut de France in Paris, and Tod's "Italian Stories" campaign spotlights its Di Bag, Metal Dots loafer and ultra-soft Pashmy Bomber.
Why should a traveller care? Because these launches double as destinations. Sretsis Inn Bangkok is now a genuine fashion landmark in the Thai capital, and Iconsiam on the Chao Phraya river combines luxury retail with one of the city's most impressive riverside complexes. Even if you're not buying, these stores are free to wander and often stage events or limited drops you won't find at home. For serious shoppers, Bangkok's no-tax-on-luxury-goods reputation and frequent mall promotions can make a designer purchase meaningfully cheaper than in Europe.
If your trip is more window-shopping than splurge, the trends to note are consistent across houses: leopard motifs, rich brocades, and tailoring with a soft, wearable edge — all easy to echo at Bangkok's Chatuchak weekend market or the city's local designer boutiques in Thonglor and Ari.
